From Here On In

From here on in we carry no baggage

We set it down and don't look back

And in its place we take up lighter things:

Faith, Hope, Love

-So light they float and carry things that once were heavy.

But after a while, beside the path we see something we wish to own.

We keep on walking uncumbered for a while but it plays on our mind.

How good it would be to own such a thing to make it 'mine'.

So we turn back to pick it up and it feels great to have, to own.

The pleasure lasts a certain time and we know we should return it.

But it feels so good to own it to say 'it's mine'

So we carry it and at first we don't even feel the weight

But soon we see something else to own:

A bag to carry many things from here on in.
